Darien First Selectman Evonne Klein (center) stands with her "Partners for Progress" on the Board of Selectman: Callie Sullivan and David Bayne. Klein has led the Darien Board of Selectmen to accomplish a remarkable number of concrete results since 2003. These accomplishments have resulted from leading the members of the Board to consensus on town priorities and on the means to achieve them.

- Established a more open, more responsive government
- Initiated downtown revitalization effort and supported the Main Street Project
- Supported top quality education
- Championed ban on through-trucks on Route 136 (Tokeneke Road)
- Established Darien Affordable Housing Advisory Commission, Charter Revision Commission, and Advisory Board of Health
- Repair of dams at Gorham and Holly Ponds
- Improved Noroton Heights train station with funds from a renegotiated lease with the CT Dept of Transportation
- Secured $200,000 in State and Federal funds to address traffic issues
- Enhanced services to our seniors
- Championed tax relief and medical benefits for our emergency services volunteers
